WHAT DOES RETREATMENT MEAN?

Retreatment is a reality with many artificial treatments. All dental treatments have an average lifespan. Dental implants may be the only exception. Two particular categories of retreatment warrant special consideration. First, dental procedures have a lifespan that falls within a bell curve; the finest reconstruction can be expected to require eventual modification or revision. Second, some treatments seem to fail prematurely with devastating consequences. These may be related to unanticipated diagnostic issues or underestimated patient factors. Treating a complex problem with routine diagnostic and treatment experience is a common cause of failure. Significant complicating factors to retreatment include loss of anatomical landmarks and structures as well as disappointment in the lost investment and failed expectation of longevity.

Dr. Miller and Jones believes that it is always better and less expensive to have a procedure done correctly the first time. Limiting the need for re-treatment saves you both time and discomfort. Visiting Dr. Miller and Jones assures that you will have the best treatment direction and excellent prosthodontic care. This decreases the chance that you will need to have the same procedure performed multiple times.
